The Friday Five - January 26th, 2024

Hi, friends! Happy Friday and welcome to this week's Friday Five. Let's get started!

  1. A giant THANK YOU! for all of your love on my Plus-Size/Curvy Heroine round-up!

I hadn't been this excited to put out a piece of content in a while, and I love that you guys enjoyed it so much! Reading is such a huge part of my life, and I love sharing recommendations, especially when it comes to fellow curvy gals finding love and romance. In case you missed the post, click here to read!

2. Has January felt like 800 years to anyone else?

Although I try to embrace cozy season as much as possible, I feel like this month has been draaaaging. I also can't remember the last time I saw the sun thanks to the never ending grey skies in Chicago this time of year. I probably say the same thing every year and just forget, but this time of year, after the spirit of Christmas has faded and we're just left with bleekness, can be tough. I can't be the only one feeling this. Are you?

3. A new lip liner from Beautycounter just launched!

I'm so excited because this is a totally new product for Beautycounter! Lip liners have really made a comeback in the recent years, and I'm so excited that a clean, non-toxic option is now avaialble on the market. Even better, they have 7 different shades so you can find what works best for you and your skin tone. I'm so excited to get my hands on these ASAP! Click here to shop the liners.

4. I've been leaning a little bit extra into therapy and self-care in this season of life.

Life has been a roller coaster lately, and most days I feel myself becoming mentally exhausted. I really want to avoid burnout as much as I can, so I've been leaning even more into self-care and doing things that fill up my cup and keep me in a healthy head space. Therapy is always a lifeline, but even more so lately, and reading has been the perfect mental escape that I've needed. This is your sign that if you feel yourself needing a mental reset, give yourself permission to lean in and listen to what your mind needs. What are some of your favorite ways to practice daily self care?

5. My new favorite pair of Blue Light glasses!

I snagged a pair of these from Peepers right before the holidays, and am officially obsessed! I wanted to try them out a bit before I gave a recommendation, but it's safe to say that they get my stamp of approval. Peepers has a ton of different shapes and colors to their frames that are really unique, but the quality of the blue light blocking and the durability of the frames are really amazing, especially for the price! If you're someone who works in front of a screen all day, do yourself a favor and snag a pair here!

That's it for this week! Have a great, restful weekend, friends.

XO

Megan
