A year ago when my now-hubby and I were planning our honeymoon, we had our sights set on Singer Island. This tiny island sits just north of Palm Beach, and is where I spent a great deal of my childhood vacationing in my grandparent’s condo. It sits right on the Atlantic and serves as the perfect oceanside escape from reality, so of course we were so excited about heading there a for a post-wedding trip. But naturally, COVID had other plans. After getting vaccinated earlier this spring, we were so excited when we could finally make this trip happen! Today on the blog I’m highlighting the best parts of our trip, and linking up my new pieces I bought for the trip. Excuse me while I go drown in vacation nostalgia…..
What We Flew: We flew with American Airlines out of O’Hare Airport, because we had trip vouchers from a previous trip cancelled from COVID. That meant we didn’t have to spend a penny on our flights, yay! If you’re looking to travel yourself soon, I would say for the most part I was impressed by American’s safety precautions and mask requirements. The only thing to be aware of is that they are selling middle row seats, so if you are flying solo you will have a stranger next to you. But since DeAndre and I were flying together it wasn’t an issue. Also, if you’re planning on traveling anywhere this summer, know that airports are back to being insane. O’Hare was the craziest I’ve seen it since Christmas 2019.
Where We Went and Where We Ate: One of my favorite things about Palm Beach is that there are so many amazing restaurants nearby, so going out to new restaurants is one of my favorite things to do down there. The open air and patio dining is always such a treat, and the local seafood is out of this world. I think I ate fish tacos for basically every meal. Some of our favorite places were:
1. HMF – HMF is located inside The Breakers Hotel, and was hands down the best food we had on the trip. A visit to The Breakers has been a long standing tradition in The Bolton Family, so I knew our trip would be incomplete without a visit! We went for appetizers and drinks before our dinner reservation, but I honestly could have stayed for a whole meal! In true Breakers fashion everything was delicious and the service impeccable. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned, and I got a margarita, and we both agreed that they were the best cocktails from our whole trip! If you haven’t explored The Breakers before, I highly recommend!
2. Meat Market Palm Beach – Meat Market is located in Palm Beach, not too far from The Breakers, and is an amazing steak place! The inside dining area was super loud, so I’m really glad we got an outside table. (Pro Tip: When dining in Palm Beach, the majority of places are loud inside, so try to opt for an outdoor table whenever possible!) Our food was absolutely amazing, my filet literally cut like butter and the Aperol Spritz I ordered was so refreshing! This was our one night out on the town to celebrate finally getting our honeymoon, and we definitely indulged!
3. The Gardens Mall – If you have never stepped foot in the Palm Beach Gardens Mall, you’ve never truly lived. This mall has almost every store you could think of, ranging all the way from Sears to Chanel, and everything in between. A vacation down to the condo is never complete without a shopping trip at The Gardens, and we just so happened to be down there during Memorial Day sales, so my shopping loving heart was so happy! I ended up scoring an amazing pair of jeans from Madewell, which is now one of my favorite items in my closet! They are the 10″ high rise skinny jeans, and I linked them here! I can’t promise that this is the exact shade I got, because there are like millions of them, but they are super comfy! I have to give a shoutout to Madewell for a second, because they actually carried these in plus size in store, rather than just online. If you are a plus-size gal like me, you understand how rare it is for stores to carry plus-sizes in person, instead of just to be ordered online! I give huge kudos to Madewell for making that happen, and they will definitely be getting a lot of business from me in the future.
What I Wore – speaking of clothing, I wanted to link up some of my favorite outfits from our trip. I spent a lot of time browsing and shopping for our vacation, and I was so excited about all of the pieces I picked out, so here we go!
I got tons of compliments on this Eloquii dress, and I can promise you that it looks just as fun and colorful in person as it does online. It was so light and comfortable, and I ended up wearing it out to dinner in twice! It’s currently waitlisted, so you can click here to get on the list!
I wore mine off the shoulder (ignore the tan line!), and I personally preferred that over having the sleeves on the shoulder.
I got tons of questions about the swimsuit I wore down there, and I have to say I am a full convert to Summersalt. This suit was so comfortable and stylish, and I love that they have extended sizes. I got The Ruffle Backflip, and you can find it here!
I paired my suit with a cute white sarong skirt, and a panama hat! They were the perfect beach accessories, and added extra sun protection! You can find the hat here, and the sarong here!
I wore this fun sequin Eloquii dress for our big night out to The Breakers and Meat Market. I got this last year for our rehearsal dinner, and its always been such a fun piece to pull for nights out and parties!
My dress was bought last year, and is unfortunately out of stock, but this City Chic is very similar and comes in a few colors! Click here to check it out.
A few more favorite beach trip necessities that I purchased and loved!
This $8 Target tank top was perfect to throw over your suit on the way down to the beach. It’s so comfy and I love this rust color. You can snag yours here.
Another great Target tank thats $5 and was perfect to pair with fun skirts for going out. You can’t beat the price and all the fun colors it comes in. Buy it here!
Universal Thread by Target makes the BEST $8 tees, that are both comfy and perfect to throw on. I probably have 8 of these in different colors because I love them so much. Grab some here!
I’ve had my Tory Burch rubber flip flops for a few years, and I pack them every beach trip I go on. They have the cutest styles and the quality is really awesome for just being rubber flip flops. Find some here!
Have a great week, everyone!
